The Denver Urban Debate League (DUDL) is hiring a part time programming coordinator. This position will require an average of 60 hours per month, with the possibility of increased hours in the future. Hours will vary from week to week depending on project flow. Schedule is flexible contingent on events and deadlines, and employee will have the opportunity to work remotely, as well as in an office setting. The Programs & Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and support the programs and operations of the DUDL. Candidates for this position should be committed to improving education in the Denver community, with an emphasis on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ideal candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, light graphic and web design, basic accounting, community relations, and event planning.
Experience working for a non-profit, or educational setting preferred. Experience in speech and debate education preferred, but not required.
Tasks may include, but not be limited to:
Coordination of DUDL’s Speech and Debate Education Programs. A large amount of this work will center around DUDL competitions and events, as well as weekly support of DUDL’s school-based programs. This will include a heavy workload during competitions and events which happen 1-2 times per month in September-April. This includes tournament registration, volunteer recruitment, tournament administration, arranging transportation and meals, ordering trophies, coordinating support staff.
Weekly meeting with Executive Director. Create and maintain weekly timeline of tasks and spreadsheet of hours.
Administrative Support of Executive Director in relation to programs and operations.
Weekly Communication Blasts to Students and Coaches
Managing communication with DUDL coaches and site visits
Budgeting and Invoicing for DUDL Programs
Assistance with curriculum development, special events, and new programs
General DUDL Office Duties such as payment of invoices
Managing contracts and agreements with school districts and member schools
Responsible for programming assessment and reporting with partners and funders.
